Everything Shadow Puppets – Week 1

It’s week one of our new You Theatre Thursdays, and we couldn’t be more excited! This week we have everything Shadow Puppets for you! Youtheatre’s Executive/Artistic Director, Todd Espeland, leads you through an interactive video on how to create your very own Shadow Puppet Theatre, including a Shadow Puppet Box, the Shadow Puppets themselves, and sample stories.

Materials You Will Need:

Shadow Puppet Box:

• Cardboard Box/Cereal Box

• Pencil

• Ruler

• Tape (Masking or Packing Tape Works Best)

• Scissors/Exacto Knife/Box Cutters

• Transparent Paper (Copy Paper works fine if you don’t have wax or parchment paper)

• Desk Lamp

Shadow Puppets:

• Tape

• Hot Glue

• Scissors/Exacto Knife

• Pencil

• Paper (Cardstock works best)

• Round Head Fastener (Optional)

• Animal Silhouette (Can print on your cardstock paper) (Optional)

• Thin Dowel (or some form of a stick)
