Sonia Sotomayor- the first Latina Supreme Court Justice. Harriet Tubman- leading Civil War abolitionist. Sally Ride- the first woman in space. They were told they couldn’t do it. All of them did it anyway. At the National Museum of Women in History, 4th-grader Naomi is intimidated: is she good enough to write an essay about these women who changed the world? When she is whisked through time to meet these trailblazing American women, plus Dr. Virginia Apgar, Florence Griffith Joyner, and Ruby Bridges, their stories help Naomi realize that she IS enough. Based on the children’s book by Chelsea Clinton, She Persisted The Musical JR. is a joy-filled, high-energy musical that reminds us all, boys and girls alike, that change begins when we refuse to give up!
